Written in 1888, just weeks before Nietzsche succumbed to madness, Ecce Homo is his own account of himself - a last, extraordinary attempt to explain how his philosophy came to be. It traces the ideas and thinkers that shaped his thinking, offering a view of his mind that is by turns shocking, revealing and difficult to look away from.
