Epic Tales African Myths & Tales

Africa south of the Sahara holds a vast range of traditions and cultures, and this collection draws widely from them. Tales move from the Yoruba people of west Africa to the San people of the south, gathering legends of the gods, origin stories, trickster exploits, animal fables and parables. Stories such as 'Obatala Creates Mankind' and 'How Anansi Became a Spider' sit alongside many others, each offering its own window into the myths that have shaped these cultures.
