My First Hanuman Chalisa

Hanuman is one of the great heroes of the Ramayan - born to Kesari and Anjani after Lord Shiva blessed them, with Vayu, the wind god, carrying Shiva's essence to Anjani. He later meets Ram and Lakshman as they search for Sita, flies across the ocean to Lanka to find her, and helps build the bridge that lets Ram cross over. More than 400 years ago, Tulsidas captured the essence of Hanuman's devotion in the Hanuman Chalisa, a prayer written in Awadhi that remains widely loved today. This retelling brings Hanuman's story and the prayer itself together for young readers.
