The Prophet

On the eve of his return home after twelve years of exile in the city of Orphalese, the prophet Almustafa is asked by its people to share his wisdom before he goes. What follows are short, searching discourses on love and marriage, work, commerce and law, and pain and death - meditations on the fundamental aspects of being alive. Written by Kahlil Gibran in 1923 and since translated into more than forty languages, The Prophet has lost none of its quiet resonance. This collector's edition brings that enduring text together with illustrations throughout, matching its elegant, meditative tone with a presentation to match.
