This is Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci spent his career moving between courts and cities, from the creative ferment of fifteenth-century Florence to his final years as genius in residence to the king of France. Painting was only part of what occupied him: engineering, natural science, sculpture, poetry, fables, music and anatomy all drew his attention, often at the expense of the easel. A single painting might take him decades, carried along on his travels and set alongside whatever else he was working on at the time. This book moves through that private, restless world, tracing how its many interests, sometimes connected to the wider world and sometimes withdrawn from it, produced the body of work that made Leonardo the definition of the Renaissance Man.
