Valmiki`s Ramayana for Early Readers Vol. 1

Valmiki's Ramayana is retold here in a simplified form especially for young children, using free-flowing, colourful illustrations throughout. The main characters appear pictorially again and again, so a child can recognise them on sight and follow the story through its pictures as much as its words. This volume follows Prince Rama from his birth and family life through the fourteen years he, his wife and his younger brother must spend in the forest after their father's promise to his stepmother. Along the way, Rama and his brother face many demons and help many people, until the sudden kidnapping of Rama's wife by the demon-king Ravana sets brave Rama out on a journey to find her.
