Epic Tales Celtic Myths & Tales

Long before dragons and dark lords became the furniture of modern fantasy, there were the myths of the Celts. This collection gathers the mythic invasions of Ireland, the mystical kingdoms and the warriors, giants and creatures of the underworld who move through them. Here are giants and ancient spells, ghosts and fairies, sea-folk and tree-folk, drawn from the great Irish cycles - the tales of the invasions, the Ulster cycle and the Fenian cycle - alongside the stories of the Mabinogion and the secret folk and fairy tales of Scotland. Together they trace the ancient, epic origins from which so much modern fantasy still draws.
