Epic Tales Norse Myths & Tales

How did Odin lose his eye? How did Tyr lose his hand? And what was the punishment finally dealt to Loki? This collection gathers the great stories of Norse mythology, stark and formidable, from those early reckonings through to the Sigurd Saga, with its sleeping warrior maidens, hoarded treasures and heroic battles. It closes on the same grand scale it opens with: the death of Balder, the gods' revenge, and Ragnarok itself. Concentrating on the ancient roots of modern fantasy, this is myth at its most epic.
